Launch day

Tuesday January 31, 2006

More settling in and then headed off late afternoon to the State library for the big UniSA, State Library, State Records and Fuji Xerox launch of a new business information management project and suite of programs.

It was an impressive launch set among the old heritage books of the State Library’s Mortlock wing. It is such a beautiful space. All org. reps spoke of how important the new program was to the future of IT and business management... a real who’s who of people at the launch, ministers, heads of government departments and the like. Finished up after 7 – it was a long day to say in the least. But so glad it's another thing all done and dusted.

Sasha came around to Nadia’s to hang out for the evening and and catch up before she left for Melbourne. We ended up talking till very late over a bottle of yummy wine, as well as a slice of pizza or two.

She and Frank also gave me some very cool binoculars as a going away present. Awesome! She said they saw so many people with binoculars during their trip around South America over the last four months, that they found themselves wishing they had a pair very quickly.

I love them! Very cool for dolphin spotting, among many things... apparently many places in Hanoi have balconies, so if I'm living in the old quarter (where all the action is), I'll be able to amuse myself for hours.

I certainly have been very spoiled by my friends and family.
